Season of Giving
Schwab’s Season of Giving brings hunger relief to communities nationwide
More than just an empty stomach
Food insecurity affects the health, education, and well-being of families and communities. Without a nutritious meal, it's harder to focus on the things that help you excel in school, succeed at work and thrive in life. Here are some of the startling realities about the state of food insecurity in the U.S.*:
Over 47 million people experience food insecurity
7.2 million children experience food insecurity
1 in 7 households struggle with hunger
12.2 million adults endure very low food security

Upbeat music plays throughout.
The scene shows the outside of a building with writing on it that says, “Tarrant Area Food Bank.” Then the scene changes to inside the food bank, a large warehouse with long rows of floor-to-ceiling, industrial shelves. The shelves are packed with pallets of food. Workers using forklifts and pallet jacks zoom around the warehouse, lifting and moving pallets.
There are warehouse noises, like beeping forklifts, truck engines, etc.
Stephen Raeside [off-screen]: That noise out there is the sound of a community in action.
Schwab volunteers pack food into boxes. Outside, a large food bank truck is parked at the loading dock.

Stephen: The mission of Tarrant Area Food Bank is to ensure a community where no person has to go hungry.
Schwab volunteers huddle up and throw their hands into the air in celebration. A large sign on a shelf reads, “1,009,229 weekly meals made possible.”
Schwab Volunteer 1: This place can serve a million meals a week, and they cycle through their inventory every couple of days. It's just amazing the work they do to provide basic nutrition to people in the area.

Schwab Volunteer 2: Schwab gives you volunteer hours—you know encourages you to go out into the community.
A worker unloads pallets of food from a truck at the loading dock.
Stephen: Schwab is also a financial supporter and provides some grant funding for our general operational support. If I could wave a magic wand, I'd ensure that our entire community is well-fed and healthy.
A digital sign on the warehouse wall says, “16,681 lbs., 13,900 Meals.”
Schwab Volunteer 2: The best part about volunteering is knowing that I'm helping a cause greater than myself.
Several Schwab volunteers stand together, smiling.
Music fades. Brand music plays.

Nourishing our community
Each week, Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) in Fort Worth, Texas, delivers more than one million meals to families in need. Schwab helps TAFB deliver nutritious meals year-round through employee volunteerism and grant funding.
Helping our neighbors curb hunger
We are making our communities stronger by providing families in need with meals this holiday season. Here are a few ways Schwab has invested in providing hunger relief to the places where we live and work:
2 million people served nationwide
Nearly 1 million meals packed
$300,000 donated to food banks across the country
More than 6,000 employee hours volunteered
From farm to table
With a team of helping hands, a little oat can go a long way. Through our partnership with Harvest Pack, we’re grateful to help bring nearly one million nutritious oatmeal breakfasts to those in need and provide hunger relief nationwide.
