Rick Wurster
Rick Wurster has been President and CEO of The Charles Schwab Corporation and a member of its Board of Directors since January 1, 2025. Previously, he served as President for more than three years, overseeing Schwab’s client enterprises, wealth and asset management, Schwab’s Banking and Trust services, technology, and operations.
Wurster leads a workforce of approximately 32,100 employees, with headquarters in Westlake, Texas, and branch offices in more than 420 locations across the United States plus London, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Puerto Rico.
As measured by client assets, Schwab is the largest publicly traded investment services firm in the United States and one of the world’s largest financial services firms serving approximately:
- $10.10 trillion in client assets
- 36.5 million client brokerage accounts, 2.0 million bank accounts, and 5.4 million workplace plan participant accounts
- ~ 15,000 independent investment advisors
Previously, Wurster served as head of Schwab Asset Management Solutions where he led money management and portfolio advice solutions, wealth management services, financial research, and market insights.
Before joining Schwab in early 2016, Wurster held leadership roles at Wellington Management and McKinsey & Company where he was a leader of the asset management practice and an Associate Principal.
Wurster earned a Master of Business Administration from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science in economics from Villanova University where he graduated magna cum laude and was Captain of the golf team. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) designations. He also serves on the Board of Governors for First Tee.
