Rob Williams is Managing Director, Head of Wealth Management Research, for the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR). In this role, he leads a team to develop research, insights, methodology, and training for Schwab clients, representatives, and advisors focusing on financial planning and wealth management across an investor’s life cycle, including saving, investing, preserving, and using in life and legacy.

Rob publishes commentary and insights regularly on Schwab.com, Schwab’s On Investing Magazine, and provides insights on investing, planning, and retirement in financial media including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, Kiplinger’s, U.S. News & World Report, Investor’s Business Daily, and other publications. 

Rob holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) designations, and a Series 7 registration.
