Starting with a pre-conference session this afternoon, attendees will hear the perspectives of financial leaders, select from 82 educational sessions, congratulate the winners of the sixth annual IMPACT Awards, and experience an Expo with more than 300 exhibitors.
In a word, it’s big.

Joshua Cooper Ramo, the youngest managing director at Kissinger Associates, addressed the IMPACT 2011 crowd on Thursday afternoon. Ramo started off by entertaining the crowd with an affectionate and dead-on impression of his boss, Henry Kissinger himself. When the curtains opened on IMPACT® 2012 – that’s figuratively speaking since there’s no curtain big enough for that 165-foot-wide stage – Bernie Clark, head of Schwab Advisor Services, welcomed nearly 3,600 attendees and exhibitors to the 21st annual conference.

The IMPACT® 2012 main stage was a busy place this morning as Schwab President and CEO Walt Bettinger joined Bernie Clark, head of Schwab Advisor Services, to present the seventh annual IMPACT Awards.
IMPACT® 2012 closed its Chicago run on a winning note, with closing remarks by Bernie Clark, head of Schwab Advisor Services, and a keynote speech by actor Alan Alda.
Mark Soehn has already e-mailed once to say he’s been delayed by Chicago traffic. Still, he arrives at McCormick Place convention center with 10 minutes to spare. He pulls out a dog-eared conference schedule and double-checks the morning session he plans to attend.
