Omar Aguilar joined Schwab in April 2011 as senior vice president and chief investment officer, equities. He has 18 years of broad investment management experience in the equity markets, including managing index, quantitative equity, asset allocation, and multi-manager strategies.
Previously, Aguilar managed more than $40 billion in assets for Financial Engines, was head of quantitative equity for ING Investment Management, and led quantitative research for Lehman Brothers.
Aguilar completed a bachelor's degree. in actuarial sciences and a graduate degree in applied statistics from the Mexican Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM). He was a Fulbright Scholar at Duke University’s Institute of Statistics and Decisions Sciences, where he earned his master's and Ph.D. degrees.
