Multicultural Services at Schwab

By Mike Cianfrocca |

Many U.S.-based investors prefer to do their investing and receive financial guidance in another language. Schwab works with U.S.-based Asian and Hispanic investors in their preferred languages and cultural styles. We have multilingual financial consultants available in strategic branch locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and our investor call centers in San Francisco and Orlando serve investors in diverse languages, including Spanish, Chinese and other Asian languages.

As part of our Multicultural Services, Schwab recently held an event in San Gabriel, California, for nearly 200 Chinese-language clients and non-clients. The event featured Schwab Funds manager Vivienne Hsu, who discussed general market trends and disciplined approaches to portfolio management, and Arcadia branch Associate Financial Consultant Franklin Hsu, who gave the audience an overview of the core Schwab offering and recent product innovations, including StreetSmart Edge and our new Smartphone apps. The event wrapped up with a Q&A session featuring Vivienne Hsu, Arcadia/Rowland Heights Branch Manager Michael Chow, and Director of International and Multicultural Marketing Tom Pixley.

Here is a photo of Vivienne Hsu addressing the audience at the event.
